Initial results to be shared following 2018 homelessness Registry Week

Posted on Tuesday April 17, 2018

Cobourg, ON – April 17, 2018 –  Members of the media and the general public are invited to the Cobourg Community Centre next Thursday, April 26, where officials will share the initial results from the 2018 homelessness Registry Week survey, underway this week in Northumberland County.

From April 16-20, volunteers are surveying community members who are experiencing homelessness. Homelessness enumeration is now mandated by the provincial government, and all municipalities will be required to complete an enumeration every two years. Northumberland remains committed to the national 20,000 Homes Campaign and will continue to collect person-specific information as part of the enumeration process so that people experiencing homelessness can be connected with the right types of housing services and supports.

Full survey results will be compiled into a formal report and delivered to County Council in the coming months.
