Posted on Wednesday July 19, 2017

Cobourg, ON – July 19, 2017 –  Northumberland  County has released its 2016 Annual Report. This document follows a presentation to Council in May by Director of Finance/Treasurer Glenn Dees and auditor Joanna Park on the final audited 2016 Financial Statements for the organization. Details captured in both the presentation and this report reveal another year of strong financial performance that has propelled forward efforts by Council and staff to deliver value to the community through programs, projects and services.

“The Annual Report continues to be an important part of the County’s financial accountability and transparency measures, as we share with our residents details about the services the County provides, and the results being achieved,” indicated Warden Mark Walas.  “As with previous years, this report confirms that we are on the right track in managing the financial health of the organization while delivering programs and services that are fostering a thriving and inclusive community.”

“The 2016 Annual Report drives transparency by capturing key financial data for the full fiscal year, as well as accomplishments of note that were supported by the annual budget,” stated Chief Administrative Officer Jennifer Moore. “The details outlined in this report are a positive reflection of the efforts of staff to respond to Council direction and strive for best practices leadership on behalf of the community, in keeping with our Mission.”

The 2016 Annual Report is available on the County website at www.NorthumberlandCounty.ca/2016AnnualReport.
