Becoming a part of Northumberland County´s growing automotive sector has its advantages. Our location directly east of the Greater Toronto Area along Highway 401 allows the flexibility of being within close proximity to both busy U.S. border crossings to the south-west, and less travelled crossings to the north-east. Also nearby is an Automotive Centre of Excellence at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology in Oshawa. This program is supported by GM and designed to promote automotive innovation and engineering. Collins & Aikman, SABIC Innovative Plastics, and Lakeland Machinists Inc. are some of the automotive-related companies that enjoy the dedicated, skilled labour; easy access to Highway 401; and exceptional quality of life that Northumberland County has to offer.
