Public Works
The Public Works Department consists of two main areas of responsibility, the County Transportation System and the Waste Management System. The department is also responsible for providing Plumbing and Weed Inspection services throughout the County of Northumberland.
Our services include:
- Maintenance of the County Transportation System
- Capital improvements to the County Transportation System
- Collection and disposal of waste
- Collection and processing of recyclables
- Composting of yard waste
- Management of Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)
- Plumbing and Weed Inspection
We are committed to providing and planning for a high quality, safe, efficient arterial transportation system throughout Northumberland County to allow for transportation of the traveling public and products by continually maintaining and upgrading our transportation infrastructure.
