New Minimum Tipping Fees Effective May 1, 2009

Effective May 1, 2009, the County of Northumberland will be instituting minimum tipping fees at the Brighton Landfill, Seymour Landfill and Bewdley Transfer Station for loads of waste weighing less than 100 kilograms, in order to conform to Federal Regulations.

The new minimum tipping fees at each of these three facilities are listed below:

For the Brighton & Seymour Landfills

$9.50 for Garbage*

$5.00 for Scrap Metal & White Goods

$8.50 for Drywall

$4.00 for Leaf & Yard Waste

Tires - free disposal as of September 1, 2009

For the Bewdley Transfer Station:

$15.00 for Garbage*

$5.00 for Scrap Metal & White Goods

$8.50 for Drywall

$4.00 for Leaf & Yard Waste

Tires - free disposal as of September 1, 2009

*The County will continue to allow patrons to pay a per-bag rate of $2.75 for each standard size (76 cm x 96 cm) bag of garbage disposed of, up to a maximum of five (5) bags.
