First Aid Tips

Being able to assist someone who is injured requires that you remain calm. Although it is sometimes difficult, staying calm helps to reassure the injured person as well as ensuring that appropriate help can be administered or called.

When administering first aid to others it is important to take precautions by wearing non-latex gloves. This will protect both you and the patient.

Keeping a first aid kit at home, in your car and at the cottage is important to having the right supplies during an emergency.

First aid and CPR training are always good tools to have. Courses are usually offered by local St. John´s Ambulance and Red Cross services.
