Forest Trails

Special Events:

  • FREE Trail Volunteer Work Shop
    September 18th, 2010    9:30 AM to 3 PM
    Cobourg Scout Reserve, #6863 County Road 45
    Become a certified County Forest volunteer, 1/2 day classroom & 1/2 in the field
    Dress for poison ivy and pack a lunch

New trails and improvements are coming your way in the Northumberland County Forest
County Forest Land Use By-law 21-10 is now in effect.

*Changes to Hunting:
   *Deer hunting during the deer season
   *Hunting only east of County Road 45
   *No motorized game retrieval   
   *No turkey, small game, coyote or bear
*Changes to Motorized Uses (snowmobile, ATV and off road motorcycle)
  
*Permits required (Great Pine Ridge Snowmobile Club, Northumberland & District ATV Riders, 
                                          Northumberland Trail Riders)
   *
Parking at Huckleberry Lane and McDonald Road OR Morris Road and County Road 45
   *On designated trails only
*Non Motorized Uses (Hiking, cycling, horseback riding, cross country skiing, dog walking,
                                   nature appreciation, snowshoeing)
   *No permits or membership required
   *New! Designated trails for non motorized users

   *New! non motorized trails available east of County Road 45-access from Woodland Road and County Road 45
   *New! no hiking, cycling, horseback riding, dog walking or snowshoeing on Beagle Club cross country ski
    trails during winter-please use trails east of County Road 45
 
   *Please keep your dogs leashed and stoop and scoop

The County is currently working on developing new signs, parking areas and access controls for the Trails, bring a compass, go with a friend and be bear aware!! Stay tuned to this website for more info and updates!
