Off-Road Motorcycling

The Northumberland County Forest offers a trail riding experience for Off-Road Motorcyclists. Off-Road Motorcycles can use a mix of roads and single track trails in the forest. Click here to see a map of the Off-Road Motorcycle trail system.

The Northumberland County Forest is patrolled by the Northumberland O.P.P., Municipal By-law enforcement officers and volunteer trail wardens. Off-Road Motorcyclists must have an Ontario Federation of Trail Riders membership to use forest trails (www.oftr.ca). Motorcycles must also be plated and insured and comply with the applicable provincial laws.

Notice: Motorized Trail Closure from Nov 1 to May 15, annually

Please Note: To protect and conserve the natural environment, the amount and location of the Off-road Motorcycle trail system has changed.  We are working with the Ontario Federation of Trail Riders and the Northumberland Trail Riders to develop, mark and maintain a single-track trail system.  This system is not open yet, but it is expected to be soon. We will post notification and a map of the trails when they are ready for use.  Off-road motorcycles may use the designated off-road vehicle trails which are a mix of forest roads, and double-track trail.
