Property Management

Housing Services provides administrative and property management services for 24 properties throughout Northumberland. This means that we are the landlord for 344 rent-geared-to-income units.

Our property management responsibilities include:

  • Filling and preparing vacant units for occupancy
  • Executing tenancy agreements
  • Financial testing and calculating rents
  • Monitoring household income limits
  • Negotiating and collecting rents
  • Providing safe residential units that are in compliance with health and safety, housing and maintenance standards
  • Conducting regular unit inspections
  • Preparing annual operating and capital budgets.

Supporting Tenant Needs
Housing Services aims to support our tenants to live in community-based housing. In order to respond to the diverse needs of our tenants, we hold regular tenant meetings and provide newsletters to educate them and provide access to community information. We also refer tenants to our community partners to ensure they have access to any necessary supports.
