How To Apply for RGI
If you are interested in applying for Rent-Geared-To-Income (RGI) Housing, you may:
Contact Northumberland County Housing Services at 905-372-3329 extension 2304 or our toll free number 1-800-354-7050. Applications can be mailed directly to the applicant.

Applications can be picked up at the Northumberland County office located at the lower level of 555 Courthouse, Cobourg, Ontario.
Documentation Required with Application:
- Birth Verification for all household members
- Verification of all income for all household members (past full
- onth)
- Verification of all assets for all household members
Please note that this includes a copy of all bankbook(s) and/or statement(s) for all household members (past 2 months), statements from all investments (ie. RRSP, RIF, GIC, annuities, etc.), life insurance documentation verifying the cash surrender value of your policy, and verifications of any transfer of assets from the past 3 years. - Income Tax Notice of Assessment (that you received back from Revenue Canada from previous year) for all household members. You may request a copy of your assessment from Revenue Canada by calling 1-800-959-8281.
- School verification for all dependents 16 years of age and older
PLEASE NOTE THAT YOUR APPLICATION CANNOT BE PROCESSED WITHOUT ALL OF THE ABOVE DOCUMENTATION.
